Afternoon Tea

Who doesn’t enjoy Afternoon Tea? Whether it is tea and scones, or a full celebration afternoon tea with a pot of tea, sandwiches, scones, cream & lemon cheese, cakes and champagne, Gibbon Bridge offers you the choice and must be one of the most elegant and beautiful settings in the Ribble Valley and Lancashire, close to Preston and Clitheroe, to sit and enjoy your tea.

Afternoon Tea was a major force in the establishment of Gibbon Bridge over 30 years ago. Janet’s dream was to open a small café for passing cyclists and walkers to enjoy a cup of tea and afternoon scones and from there the vision of a Country Hotel & Restaurant grew.

Whatever the occasion we have a menu to suit. All the scones, cakes, bread and preserves are made here in the Bakery and depending on the season you can take tea in front of the fire, overlooking the gardens or in the elegant and airy Orangery.

From September Afternoon Tea is served between 3pm & 5pm - on Wednesdays ONLY and only Menus 1, 4 or 5 are available. Booking is required. Menu 1 is availabe every day.  For further details please see our Afternoon Tea Menu.

Afternoon Tea with Music

During the spring, on the following dates, our pianist will be playing, so come and take tea with us on: 

• Wednesday 7th March
• Good Friday 6th April
• Wednesday 9th May

Tea is served between 3.30 – 5.00 pm and the cost is £16.00 per person for a selection of delicious sandwiches, scones, lemon cheese, cream, cakes & tea
