Ideally located in the heart of the Ribble Valley Gibbon Bridge is the perfect place to seal your commitment to each other and take your vows. Whether you are looking for a small intimate venue or a larger exclusive wedding venue for your civil wedding then we have the experience and expertise to ensure that your special day meets all your expectations and more.
Outside civil partnership weddings, between April and September, take place in the fairytale Bandstand situated in the stunning award-winning gardens. The alternative, summer or winter, is the Victorian style Orangery; extravagant and elegant in its design with cast iron pillars, limestone floor, antique rugs, glass roof and doors as well as Vincent Sheppard’s contemporary furniture and David Reade’s hand blown glass.
For a smaller more traditional ceremony there is the Cavalier Lounge with its huge gothic stone fireplace and comfy chairs.
This is a unique wedding venue in a beautiful setting offering fine-dining, exclusivity and our personal attention for your special day.
Please note we have some minimum requirements for weddings at different times of the week and year.
The Garden Bandstand
Between the 1st April and 30th September we are able to hold civil ceremonies in the garden Bandstand, weather permitting. Up to twenty guests are able to be seated in the Bandstand with you and the remainder of your guests stand or sit informally on the terrace.
The Bandstand sits on the lower terrace in a natural amphitheatre of mature trees, rolling lawns and ‘cottage garden’ flowerbeds. Stone steps lead from the top terrace down to the lower enabling the bride to make an entrance never to be forgotten.
Should the weather not be suitable for an outdoor ceremony, or if you prefer, the Orangery is available.
The Orangery is licensed for civil weddings all year around. Featuring large glass bi-folding doors opening onto a spacious terrace with a view of the gardens, the room’s modern design is both opulent and stylish. The room features six Victorian cast iron pillars and the glass roof floods the space with natural daylight. A unique time piece and antique rugs, limestone flooring with under floor heating, mood lighting and Vincent Sheppard’s contemporary furniture all complete the aesthetics. It is also home to a white baby Yamaha grand piano and Janet’s collection of David Reade’s hand blown glass ornaments, vases and plates.
The Cavalier Lounge
A beautiful setting with a wonderful gothic fireplace. Available all year round but ideal for smaller winter weddings with the open fire and candelight creating a romantic glow.
